Memorial Day began as a commemoration for the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers, which led to remembering more who’ve fallen in wartime. Our past few years has sometimes felt like Civil War, and I wonder what Americans went through in 1865 to rebuild and find a peaceful place in which to prosper. Expressions like “live and let live” and “progress not perfection” can remind us to find peace in ourselves in simple daily choices we make.
I invite you to take that step back onto the in-person dance floor, to remember our feet, spine, head and limbs. You are the choreography, simply move to the music and let your light shine.
